According to the Hanoi Statistics Office, in April 2024, the city had 20 new foreign direct investment (FDI) projects licensed with a total registered capital of $103,9 million. Additionally, there were 14 projects with increased investment capital totaling $57.4 million, and 27 instances of foreign investors contributing capital or purchasing shares, amounting to $15.5 million.
Overall, in the first four months of 2024, the entire city attracted $1.132 billion in FDI capital. This included 73 newly registered projects with a total capital of $1.008 billion, 47 projects with increased investment capital totaling $79 million, and 65 instances of foreign investors contributing capital or purchasing shares, amounting to $45 million.
During the same period, Hanoi issued certificates for the establishment of 9,400 new businesses, with registered capital of 97.6 trillion VND, representing a 6% decrease in the number of businesses and a 9% increase in registered capital compared to the same period last year. Additionally, 4,500 businesses resumed operations, marking a 10% increase, while over 14,200 businesses registered temporary suspension of operations, indicating a 24% increase. Furthermore, 1,400 businesses were dissolved, reflecting a 12% increase. The online business registration process maintained a 100% completion rate, ensuring quality and timely processing.
To date, Hanoi has 10 operational industrial parks covering a total land area of 1,348 hectares. Moreover, there are 102 industrial clusters where infrastructure construction is underway, covering a total area of 2,188 hectares. These industrial zones and clusters have achieved nearly 100% occupancy rates.
