According to the Department of Planning and Investment of Nam Dinh Province, as of April 20, 2024, the province has issued new investment registration certificates for 11 FDI projects operating in the processing and manufacturing industry, with a total registered capital of 123.2 million USD.
In the first four months of 2024, the industrial production index is estimated to increase by 13.27% compared to the same period last year. Specifically, the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 13.57%, contributing 13.17 percentage points to the overall growth; the electricity production and distribution sector increased by 4.78%, contributing 0.11 percentage points; the water supply, management and waste treatment, wastewater sector increased by 2.84%, contributing 0.04 percentage points; while the mining industry decreased by 13.75%, reducing 0.05 percentage points.
Some products in the first four months of the year experienced increases in volume compared to the same period last year, such as: various types of fabrics increased by 16.57%; ready-made clothes increased by 9.16%; footwear increased by 21.28%; various types of woven bamboo products increased by 11.92%; printed products increased by 26.37%; iron and steel doors, windows increased by 14.67%. Conversely, some products experienced decreases in volume, such as: various types of confectionery decreased by 2.49%; processed salt decreased by 24.76%; draft beer decreased by 11.43%; sawn or split wood decreased by 1.40%; wooden furniture decreased by 11.25%; toys decreased by 4.14%.
