CG Power Company of India, in partnership with Japan's Renesas Electronics Corporation and Thailand's Stars Microelectronics, will set up another semiconductor plant in Sanand, Gujarat state, with an investment of nearly $1 billion. This plant will focus on manufacturing chips for consumer products, automotive, and energy sectors, with a capacity of 15 million chips per day.

3. And the third one

The remaining plant will be established by TSAT Company, a subsidiary of Tata Group, in Morigaon, Assam state, with an investment of $3.26 billion. The capacity of this third plant will be 48 million chips per day, targeting products for automotive, electric vehicles, consumer electronics, telecommunications, and mobile phones," Mr. Modi stated.

According to the Prime Minister of India, the establishment of these three new semiconductor plants will contribute to accelerating job creation in the automotive, electronics manufacturing, telecommunications, industrial manufacturing, and other semiconductor-consuming industries of India; directly creating 20,000 high-tech jobs and 60,000 indirect jobs.

"India will soon commence commercial production of semiconductors and related products and become a global powerhouse in this field, similar to space technology, nuclear, and digital technology," Prime Minister Modi emphasized.

As part of the "Make in India" and "Self-Reliant India" initiatives, the Indian government has introduced programs to encourage manufacturing collaborations across various sectors, aiming to enable domestic manufacturers to compete globally, attract investments, enhance exports, integrate into global supply chains, and reduce dependence on imports.
