As of November 20, 2023, Hai Phong has 913 active foreign-invested projects with a total registered capital of USD 29.42 billion (all-time number).

The total foreign investment attracted citywide from the beginning of the year until November 20, 2023, reached USD 3,260.31 million. Breakdown:

↘️ Newly Granted Projects: 100 projects were newly granted with a total new capital of USD 1,321.77 million. Among them, 62 projects were newly granted within industrial parks and economic zones, totaling USD 1,245 million (94.19%), and 38 projects were newly granted outside industrial parks and economic zones, totaling USD 76.77 million (5.81%).

↘️ Capital Adjustment Projects: There were 46 projects with increased capital, contributing an additional USD 1,924.53 million. Of these, 35 projects within industrial parks and economic zones increased their capital by USD 1,856 million, and 11 projects outside industrial parks and economic zones increased their capital by USD 68.1 million.

↘️ Capital Attraction through Capital Contribution, Share Purchase, and Capital Contribution Portion: There were 27 cases with a registered investment of USD 14.45 million. Specifically, within industrial parks and economic zones, there were 2 cases with a registered investment of USD 2.89 million, and outside industrial parks and economic zones, there were 25 cases with a registered investment of USD 11.56 million.

↘️ In the first 11 months of the year, several industrial sectors experienced significant growth compared to the same period last year.

Shipbuilding and floating structure components increased by 85.43%; manufacturing of civil electrical appliances rose by 81.60%; production of computers and peripheral devices increased by 80.37%; motor vehicle manufacturing grew by 74.59%; toy manufacturing saw a 59% increase; production of laminated wood, veneer, and plywood rose by 49.68%; paper and cardboard manufacturing increased by 39.86%; electronic component manufacturing grew by 36.87%.

↘️  In the first 11 months of the year, On the contrary, some sectors experienced a decrease in production indices. Battery and accumulator manufacturing decreased by 72.58%; tobacco product manufacturing decreased by 42.45%; cosmetics, soap, detergent, and sanitary product manufacturing decreased by 30.91%; agricultural and forestry machinery manufacturing decreased by 28.28%; office machinery and equipment manufacturing decreased by 25.27%; basic chemical manufacturing decreased by 20.54%.
