In April 2024, IMF released the latest edition of its World Economic Outlook report.
IMF said the global economy will continue to grow at 3.2% during 2024 and 2025, the same pace as in 2023.
Large emerging markets are poised to play an increasingly significant role in driving global economic expansion, fueled by demographic changes and the rise of a burgeoning consumer base.
Simultaneously, many smaller nations are expected to experience rapid economic growth, outpacing the global average, mainly due to abundant natural resources. However, the high levels of debt pose potential risks to future economic prosperity.
The accompanying graphic illustrates the fastest-growing emerging markets projected until 2029, based on data from the International Monetary Fund’s 2024 World Economic Outlook.
In the report, The nation of Vietnam was forecasted to be in the top 10 of The World’s top 10 Fastest Growing Emerging Markets from now to 2029.
IMF projected the country's GDP will grow 5.8% in 2024, 6.5% in 2025, and 6.5% in 2029.
In term of inflation, IMF projected Vietnam’s inflation at 3.6% in 2024 and 3.4% in 2025.
