5 Provinces Hosting the Highest Number of Industrial Parks in Vietnam

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Planning and Investment, there are currently around 563 industrial parks nationwide, as outlined in the planning of 61 out of 63 provinces and municipalities. Among these, 397 industrial parks have been established, with 292 already operational, covering a total natural land area of over 87,100 hectares, of which approximately 58,700 hectares are designated as industrial land. Additionally, 106 industrial parks are currently under construction, spanning a total natural land area of about 35,700 hectares, with an industrial land area of around 23,800 hectares. The current top five with the highest number of operational industrial parks are:

1. DONG NAI

Having been developing its industrial sector since the 1960s, Đồng Nai province currently leads the nation in terms of the number of industrial parks. The province has received approval for the planning of 39 industrial parks covering nearly 190 km2, of which 31 are already operational, boasting an occupancy rate of nearly 86%.

Recently, Dong Nai has initiated the construction of the Long Thành High-Tech Industrial Park with an investment of over 6 trillion VND and has also been granted approval for the additional investment in the Long Đức 3 Industrial Park with a total capital of 1.8 trillion VND.

2. BINH DUONG

In the province, the list of operational industrial parks has reached 30, covering a total area of 12,670.5 hectares and maintaining an average occupancy rate of 87.4%. It is also the province with the largest industrial park area in Vietnam. Industrial parks in Binh Duong account for a quarter of the total area of industrial parks in the Southern region of the country.

3. HCMC

Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) has also developed a substantial number of industrial parks and clusters. From the 1990s until today, industrial parks in the city have experienced robust growth and attracted significant investments. Presently, HCMC is home to 19 operational industrial parks.

Recently, Deputy Prime Minister Lê Minh Khái has approved the proposal from the Ministry of Planning and Investment to adjust and supplement the industrial parks within the geographical area of HCMC in the Development Plan of Industrial Parks in Vietnam. Accordingly, the addition of Phạm Văn Hai I Industrial Park with an area of 379 hectares and Phạm Văn Hai II Industrial Park with an area of 289 hectares in Phạm Văn Hai Commune, Bình Chánh District, is included in the development plan of industrial parks within HCMC.

he Deputy Prime Minister has also agreed to exclude Bàu Đưng Industrial Park, Phước Hiệp Industrial Park, and Xuân Thới Thượng Industrial Park from the development plan of industrial parks within HCMC.

4. LONG AN

The industrial park market in Long An has also experienced significant growth in recent times, thanks to its proximity to Ho Chi Minh City. Moreover, industrial parks in Long An greatly benefit from their role as a connection point to the Mekong Delta provinces and distribution and logistics centers in the Southern region. Currently, Long An has 18 operational industrial parks.

According to the People's Committee of Long An Province, from now until 2030, Long An will establish 17 new industrial parks with an additional area of nearly 3,200 hectares. As a result, the province will have a total of 51 industrial parks covering an area of nearly 12,500 hectares.

With this number, Long An will rank second (after Bình Dương) in terms of industrial park area among all provinces in the country, creating favorable conditions and significant opportunities for investment attraction.

5. BAC NINH

Although Bắc Ninh is the smallest province in Vietnam in terms of area, it stands out as the province with the highest number of operational industrial parks in the Northern region, boasting 15 IPs.
