According to information from Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Na Duong II Thermal Power Plant is scheduled to take place on April 5th, 2024.
The project, invested by EVN, has a total investment of over 4,000 billion VND, with a capacity scale of 110 MW, consisting of one generating unit.
The main fuel to operate the plant is coal produced by Na Duong Coal Company, a subsidiary of Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (Vinacomin).
When operational in 2026, Na Duong II Thermal Power Plant is expected to supply approximately 750 million kWh to the national grid, contributing to energy security for the provinces of Lang Son, Cao Bang, and the Northeast region.
In December 2023, EVN, in collaboration with the consortium of Vietnam Construction Joint Stock Corporation No.1 (Vinaconex 1) and DR.AZ Group Limited Liability Company, signed an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for the main plant of Na Duong II Thermal Power Plant project, with a value of over 3,300 billion VND.
