According to a report from the National Power System Dispatch Center (A0), as of the current time, Vietnam's total electricity generation capacity has reached 84,360 MW, of which renewable energy electricity has reached 22,541 MW, accounting for nearly 30% of the system excluding hydropower.
The total renewable energy capacity in the 9 provinces of the Central Highlands and South Central region is 13,212 MW, including 48 wind power plants (2,969 MW); 97 solar power plants (5,863 MW); 405 MW from wind and 242 MW from solar power projects under transition to renewable energy; 120 small hydroelectric plants (1,092 MW), and 3,288 MW from rooftop solar power.
This accounts for nearly 60% of the total nationwide capacity.
