Now let's dive in the interview.

Interviewer: If you had just 3–5 lines to describe yourself, what would you want people to remember about you?

Open-minded, international, hard-working, passionate about life and beauty.

Interviewer:  What sparked your journey into your current industry or profession? Was it by choice, chance, or calling?

A combination: I come from a family of lawyers, but did not want to become the typical Italian lawyer and wanted to put some of the things I like about life (travelling, knowing new people and cultures) into my profession. The law deals with almost anything in life, so my vantage point is quite privileged.

Interviewer: What core values have guided your decisions throughout your career?

Honesty, hard-work, differentiation

Interviewer: Can you describe your area of expertise and your current role (or most recent role) in a concise way?

You want to conduct a certain business or transaction or need to protect your assets or rights. There are rules that apply (maybe you know them, maybe you do not). We explain you the rules, what you can and cannot do, what options you have, we implement the solution and follow up. We do this in various jurisdictions and industries, including online ones.

Interviewer: Among your achievements or contributions, which 1–2 do you consider the most meaningful – and why?

Being the trusted lawyer for the Vietnam operations of a major Italian company. I cannot disclose the industry, but they chose me for something quite complex. I am proud of it and of the solutions we found.
Successfully winning a case for a digital client investigated by the Italian authority responsible for regulating the Italian financial markets: we explained our position, cleared out doubts and the client could keep on doing great business in Italy.

Interviewer: What type of problems or challenges do people/companies often come to you for help with?

How to protect their rights, for instance when signing a contract or setting up a company with other shareholders. How to diversify legal risks.

Interviewer: Are there any common misconceptions people have about your industry or your work that you’d like to clarify?

The one that I really do not like is when people tell me that they hope they do not need a lawyer. (Potential) clients should see people like me like a doctor that prevents something worse (you do your regular blood, dental, dermatological etc. check-ups precisely to avoid being rushed to the emergency room because of lack of monitoring).

Interviewer: What trends, technologies, or mindsets do you believe will shape the future of your industry in the next 3–5 years?

Trade wars with their implications and AI are easy answers. I would add also the fact that younger generations have a different approach to the law. The brightest young entrepreneurs, whilst at times ignorant about legal matters, are conscious of their relevance and look for no-BS solutions and speed and are happy to pay.

Interviewer: If you could share one piece of practical advice to young professionals or new businesses in your field, what would it be?

Listen and learn as much as possible. If you can, travel. In any case, be exposed to different types of cases and learn from practical experience.

Interviewer: Who do you want to connect with more through this platform?

Ideally anyone, as I am keen to get to know new people and learn from them and potentially anyone could become my client or refer clients. Happy to work jointly with others.

Interviewer: Thank you Mr. Federico.
